We have enjoyed a wonderful start to the New Year.  It has been a joy to see five people join with us in the month of January.  What a joy also to sense the presence of God in our services and see people responding to the challenge to be “All In” for Jesus this year.  My heart has been thrilled to read and hear about people committing to daily Bible reading and prayer.  I rejoice in the number of people who have expressed their desire be “All In” with their Worship, Walk, Work and Witness in 2012.

As I have stated on several occasions it all begins with the heart.  If our heart is totally committed to Jesus Christ then we will find it easier to worship, walk, work and witness for Him.  Mark 12:30 challenges us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.”  In this month of February, commonly known as “Heart Month”, it is a good time to examine our hearts to see if we are truly in love with Jesus Christ.

I invite you to join us for the various activities and services being planned this month.  We will focus around the theme of “True Love”.  In a world where love is portrayed primarily as a physical display of affection, we need to better understand what the Bible says about “True Love.”  I have asked Pastor Randy to speak on February 12 as we focus on “True Love Waits.”  We are planning a special service for our students and their families to make a commitment to purity.  Also we will have our annual Valentine Dinner to celebrate God’s love for us on February 11.  Be sure to get your tickets!  On Sunday, February 19, we will have Baptist Women’s Day. Join us we look at true love displayed through the ministry of Baptist Women.

The end of the month brings us to our Winter Revival, February 26-29 with Evangelist Bob Pitman.  I would ask you to begin to pray for the meetings that God will stir our hearts to love Him more.  Also plan to attend as we have planned special nights with area church choirs and a special youth emphasis on Wednesday evening.  Lord, revive my heart is my prayer.  Will you join me?
